Key Stage 3 Curriculum


Key Stage 3 is Years 7, 8 and 9. All students follow the broad and balanced National Curriculum:
English
Maths
Science
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic)
Citizenship Education
Two Modern Foreign Languages (French and, either, Spanish or German)
PE
ICT
Religious Studies
History
Geography
Design Technology
Art
Music


An options process at the end of Year 8 allows students to begin to develop a personalised curriculum.
Students then choose their Key Stage 4 options at the end of Year 9.


Key Stage 4 Curriculum


Key Stage 4 is Years 10 and 11.
Students follow the core subjects:
English
Maths
Science
PSHE
Citizenship
Modern Foreign Language (at least one of French, Spanish or German)
PE
Religious Studies
They also have an opportunity to choose a number of ‘options’ subjects. The subjects currently offered are:
Art and Design
Business Studies
Food Technology
French
Geography
German
Graphic Products
History
ICT (GCSE Computing or GCSE ICT)
Music
Photography
Physical Education (GCSE)
Religious Studies
Resistant Materials
Separate Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)

Textiles

The Key Stage 4 Curriculum will vary according to a student’s aptitude and ability. Our aim is that each of
our students should study for a range of qualifications appropriate to their ability.
